Arts Can Circle seeks to confront the multi­ple realities and inequalities facing First Na­tions, lnnu, lnuit and Métis youth in remate northern communities.

The intention is to create an open, inclusive, and flexible space without clear hierarchies. The proposed design is an oval shaped healing room in the center of the space which is a reinterpretation of a circle and a symbol of welcoming, inclusion, and the cycle of life. The interior of the healing room is a contemporary conceptualization of the traditional longhouse using natural materials. The spatial organization includes a multi-purpose library/event space and a dance studio.
