Ritual of Self
The ritual of self-care is a deeply personal experience. For me that ritual starts in the kitchen, taking time for myself to create something delicious. With this in mind the objects I created were spoons, my most commonly used utensil. Through this practice, I deepened my understanding of self-care and realized that the act of making, in many forms, is what brings me joy. This all translated into the eventual retreat space designed with the idea of allowing for multiple forms of creating: cooking, crafting, and wood working. This space allows for one to create alone or with family and friends, optimizing for whatever self-care looks like that day.
