This design proposal takes inspiration from mid-century modern design in alignment with the existing conditions of the site. The motel owners express their admiration towards this design trend since staying true to the site's original built conditions is important to them. The main idea of this design uses the organic and geometric shapes of mid-century modern patterns reflected into plan to introduce a new spatial design for the long-term stay rooms. The new rooms are carefully composed with both straight-edge and curved partitions. This idea aims to revitalize the north wing units by combining neighbouring suites to allow for more livable space within each unit.
