ArtsCan Circle HQ Tkaronto

Artscan Circle headquarters is a space to welcome Indigenous youth from remote communities to Tkaronto. It is a space for musical and artistic expression, creating the opportunity for the voices and talents of the indigenous youth to be heard. It is a space to connect, learn, perform, record and collaborate with other Indigenous artists.

The use of natural materials, traditional techniques and interior details inspired by local indigenous arts and traditions help to connect those visiting to the traditional lands of Tkaronto.

The welcome space emulates the proportions and vernacular of the Haudenosaunee longhouse which is open to the gathering area and looks towards the stage. It is a space to connect and share, together. The stage and gathering area are illuminated during the day from the natural light above. The curved stair wraps around the stage following the light up to the second floor where you can peer down on the gathering space below.
