Continuity
The concept behind my final model was to create a structure to support each plaster block individually while also creating connections between the relationships of the voids. I thought about connecting the interiors of the forms to the exterior portions of the forms. The thinner lines (⅛ inch dowels) are used to highlight the organic shapes within the voids as well as connect each through continuous lines. These thinner lines began by framing the smallest void in the highest plaster piece. It framed a little “moment” or point of interest and then continued through the rest of the structure. Although each piece is standing on its own, your eyes are guided from one piece to the next.
