This detail model is based on a passageway in Skara Brae, focusing on the details of the stone slabs, and how the stone slabs are stacked, to create an opening for the passageways that is strong and stable. For the material of the model, square wooden dowels were used, as it went well with the rustic and organic aesthetic of Skara Brae. By sawing and sanding each wood piece differently, it allowed the wood “stone slabs” to be stacked, creating small pockets of space in between the pieces of wood.
