Crescent Motel

The design for Crescent motel is centered on the form of arched bay windows, as all of the changes made are curved to match this shape. The look of this design enhances the motels curb appeal and targets a contemporary and young crowd. The bay windows have comfortable seating that is closely tied with the living space of the long term stay rooms, to allow interaction of two different seating types. Within the rooms themselves, the partition walls, couches and storage units have curved edges to bring the design altogether.

The Crescent Motel in Fort Erie is a mid century building that is charming and inviting. The motel will be ideal for short term and long term stay that will be affordable to all. There are three different layouts; 10 rooms targeted for long term stay with two beds, 7 rooms with a workspace and one bed, 4 rooms with simply a bed and living room and one large room to accommodate a bigger group. The renovations that will be made are simple, yet add lots of natural light and space to the small rooms. This allows the owner to maintain a minimal budget, with the benefit of keeping lots of the existing structure.

As for kitchen and laundry facilities, a large shared common area is available for use to any resident or visitor. There is a vast amount of counter and seating space to allow easy movement throughout the space, and the laundry area is closed off and can be accessed through a back door or through the kitchen area. One room has also been converted into storage units.

Within the exterior,  there is a courtyard with room for entertainment and lots of seating, with the intention of bringing people together. It is flexible for the cold winter climates, as there are fire pits to keep warm. Outside the lobby is a small roundabout for easy pickup and drop off with the parking space in the back of the motel.
