Chloroplast

A chloroplast is an organelle only found in the cells of plant and algae, creating energy through the process of photosynthesis. It is within this process that the plant is strengthened, allowing for growth and reproduction. Chloroplast, as a manifestation of ‘fake nature’, is a speculative model that imagines what the reproduction of organelles might feel like in a fictional space, and how we might interact with them. Focusing on a conceptual space, the idea of growth is translated through four circular levels that rotate around a central tube. To start, all of the levels are rotated so that only solid ground is shown. Then, each level can be rotated to reveal a collection of voids that seem to grow as they overlap. These voids, based off of the mapping of plant cells, represent the reproduction of cells and the plants ability to succeed its environment, taking over the space in which it inhabits.
