Commotion
“Commotion” was created through a patterned surface study of the works of Spanish painter, Okuda San Miguel. His vibrant street art and sculptures inspired the use of geometric shapes, vibrant colours and a variety of dots, drips, and overlapping stripes that form a continuous image spanning all six sides of the cube. Painted with acrylic paint on MDF board, the patterns and colours are repeated to convey a sense of unity and balance. Stripes of different thicknesses weave through the collection of shapes, prompting the eyes to travel from one side of the cube to another.
