Paper planes
The light object is a variation on the Z-Bar Pendant Bird lamp by Peter Ng, which involves four sleek and minimal bars of light designed to illuminate any space. The goal of this proposed fixture is to keep the minimalist, geometric qualities of the original, while creating a new object that is atmospheric and functions as a spatial element. The concept of this variation is to evoke childhood memories of flying paper planes. The light is composed of three glowing paper structures that come together as part of a larger unit to resemble unity and connection among people, while the colors inside each structure reveal secret messages of the creators. The object is intended to be installed in an urban environment where visitors can make their own paper planes and attach it to the primary structure.
Paper Planes
in the face of the darkness,
shivering cold, dawn of the war,
let there be light.
let us be reckless children again
playing with paper planes
in this world of constant change.
let the love shine through
let us see the world in colors again.
