Haven Motel: Comfort on a Smaller Scale

Comfort on a Smaller Scale: When many think of a motel, they think of the bare necessities. These rooms have a habit of being small and cramped, with only space for the bare essentials and tend to overlook comfort. This motel redesign incorporates the original base of the building, all while concentrating on finding a way to make the space feel bigger and allow visitors to feel at home. Splitting the motel into short-term and long-term stays, I decided to use a linear building design throughout the entirety of the motel in order to create the illusion of longer and larger rooms while creating a sense of privacy that you would typically find at one’s home.
