DIGITAL FOOTPRINT aims to address the loneliness and isolation caused by COVID-19 restrictions. The installation invites viewers to enter into a tunnel of flickering lights, each representing someone passing by the front of the school based on data collected by our group. Through the analysis of time-lapse videos taken in front of the School of Interior Design, we were able to graph the increase and decrease of movement on the sidewalk at various times of the day. The illuminated footprints mimic the movement outside the School of Interior Design, reminding viewers of the community around it.
